Welcome to Yokohama sushi lovers! If you are reading this it means you are looking for some great sushi spots in Yokohama? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been to many – some were great, some were good, some were okay, but never a bad one
So I will be sharing my top 7 sushi spots in Yokohama that keep me coming back. Each place is handpicked for a reason but they are share some common themes, like quality and value for money. These aren’t just eateries – these are the places where memories are made one bite at a time.
So get ready to experience the true essence of quality sushi in Yokohama, just like a local, or a gaijin that calls Yokohama his second home.
Tsukijitamazushi Minatomiraiten
Located inside Marine & Walk Yokohama (a short stroll from the Red Brick Warehouse), this is my favourite sushi restaurant in the area. It offers high quality sushi at very reasonable prices.

This place is tiny, run by an elderly couple, but mighty on flavour and light on your wallet. You can eat well here for around 1,500 yen.

Sushi Ebihara
Another smaller, but more modern sushi joint that’s popular with the locals (and a few tourists who venture this way). You’ll have a good meal here without breaking the bank.

Saburo Sushi
If you are in Motomachi area and are craving fresh & delicious sushi you shouldn’t miss this place. Another family run restaurant with wonderful owners (who can also speak a bit of English).

Sushi Tokyo Ten Yokohama
This one is for omakase sushi lovers. Conveniently located in NEWoMan, just a shot stroll from Yokohama Station. It is much easier to get a booking here than in Tokyo!

Sushi Aun
If you are ever in the Kamiooka area then do stop by Sushi Aun. Quality sushi, intimate atmosphere, impeccable interior. You’ll feel like you are in Ginza or Roppongi, but without the price tag. Just make sure you have cash during the day (at night the cards are okay).
Open: Lunch; Tuesday to Sunday 11:30am to 2pm, Dinner; Tuesday to Sunday 5pm – 10pm
Average price: varies based on the set for lunch (anywhere from 1,500 JPY to 4,000 JPY), dinners from 1,000 JPY (but expect to pay around 3,000 yen)

Sushiro
Good quality sushi at cheap as chips prices. Yes, its a conveyor belt, massive-chain, sushi restaurant, but it offers a fantastic range of sushi at unbeatable prices (we can’t get any of that in Australia – fellow Aussies will know what I am talking about). It’s little wonder I end up going here regularly. This particular one is located at Yokohama Nanbu Market, but they do have locations all over Yokohama (and Tokyo and Japan).
Open: Monday to Sunday 10:30am – 9:30pm
Average price: varies, anywhere from 1,000 JPY to 4,000 JPY

Address: 1-1 Torihamacho, Kanazawa Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa 236-0002
Tsukijitamazushi was great. Fantastic selection of sushi, many of which I have never seen before.
The two of us ended up paying just over 7000 yen in total (including drinks), which is peanuts compared to what it normally costs us in Sydney for mediocre sushi.
